JOB DESCRIPTION: Under supervision, responsible for safely performing all duties necessary to meet state and local requirements in the Wastewater Treatment Plant and sewer collection system. Requires strength and dexterity to perform essential functions of the job. Works outdoors under prevailing weather conditions. Required to work stand-by duty and/or overtime. Subject to after hour call-out for emergency situations. Pre-employment physical, drug and alcohol tests required.
SKILLS, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, OR KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Texas Drivers License and good driving record, Class B - CDL preferred/required by end of probationary period. Must obtain Texas Commission of Environmental Quality "D" Wastewater License by end of first anniversary of employment and Texas Commission of Environmental Quality "C" Wastewater License by end of second anniversary of employment. Mechanical background, knowledge of pumps and motor repairs and operations, and record keeping experience preferred. Must meet TCEQ certification requirements. Must reside within a 7 mile radius of City Hall, 101 East Main, Robstown, Texas 78380 when working stand-by.
